What matters

The key to oral health is good habits, not gimmicks! It's less about which brush you use, more about how well you use it!

The habits

Consistent routine

Consistent brushing and flossing is the simple trick to preventing major oral health problems, yet 50% of us don’t brush twice a day and even fewer floss.

Correct technique

We’ve been led to believe that the more we spend and the more power we brush with, the better the clean, but it’s not about what you use, it’s the way you use it!

Regular upkeep

Regular product maintenance and dental visits are a health need, not just a hygiene one, yet 75% of us don’t refresh our bristles or visit the dentist on time.

Consistency is key to perfect, preventative care

Brush AM+PM

AM brushing is crucial, but PM even more so! Sugar and debris left on teeth overnight is a breeding ground for plaque, so no skipping!

quip and toothpaste

Daytime care

Daytime maintenance can be a game changer! Take quip to work in its travel cover, floss after lunch or chew sugar free gum. Every little helps!

Daily flossing

Flossing is arguably even more important than brushing yet many of us fail to do so. Stop plaque before it starts by flossing daily!

Pea-size paste

You don’t need an inch of paste as TV ads suggest! Apply a pea-size portion of paste as per the guide on the back of a quip tube.

hand holding quip

Brush gently

Brushing harder does not mean brushing better and is a root cause of receding gums. Grip brush in fingertips and brush gently!

brush being angled against teeth

Angle at 45°

The main focus of brushing should be on removing debris between teeth and gums. Angle your brush at 45° for a helping hand!

Short strokes

Rather than movie style circular brushing or sweeping back and forth movements, brush using short, tooth size strokes.

teeth being brushed

Every surface

The hidden surfaces of your teeth are most susceptible to plaque and often forgotten. Be sure to brush every surface of each tooth!

divided mouth quadrants and quip brush

Full 2 minutes

Brushing for 2 minutes is a start, but only if you cover every tooth, gum line and surface. Use quip’s 30 second pulses to switch areas.

tongue being scrubbed

Scrub tongue

While it can be a weird sensation, brushing your tongue fights bad breath. Use quip’s bristles or tongue scraper to gently clean!

brush head being rinsed

Do/don't rinse!

Rinsing and drying your brush is a great way to keep it bacteria free, but to get full effect of your toothpaste, don’t rinse your mouth!

quip in mirror mount with directional arrow

Store alone

Store quip away from toilet and other brushes using the cover to stand or stick to glass or tile. Keep bristles up and out to allow them to dry!

brush head and motor and battery being removed and replaced

Hold handle in one hand, head in the other, bristles pointing away from you. Gently pull head away from handle while also applying light pressure backward towards you, as shown in video above. Dampen old head bristles and use to brush away toothpaste residue from handle area that head connects to. Pull motor out using “ears” then tip handle to tap out battery. Drop in your fresh or charged AAA battery ( (you receive a free AAA battery in every refill pack unless you ask us to " go green" and we will stop sending batteries and you can use your own rechargable AAA and simply swap out and recharge every 3 months!), negative end first then slide motor back in (it’ll spring up slightly) and push new head on until it makes a dull click. Test all is well by pressing the "q" button to test!
